right arrowWhen enrolling in an online course, you are making a commitment to taking an active role in learning the subject matter. This means contributing to discussions and collaboration. The following guidelines will assist you in meeting these requirements.

The following guidelines apply to responding to a main topic:

  • Respond at least once to a main topic or discussion forum.
  • Reply at least once to a course member's contribution in a given forum or main topic.
  • Use formal prose style in topic forums.
  • Reflect on the material and submit substantial contributions.
  • Do not repeat ideas already presented or stray from the main topic.
  • Support contributions with references to reliable and relevant sources.
  • Provide complete citations and reference lists with contributions.
  • Use descriptive headings for contributions.
